At least four Turkish soldiers have been injured in a military helicopter crash in the residential area of Turkish capital.

The aircraft went down in a residential neighborhood on the Asian side of the city, Istanbul’s governor, Ali Yerlikaya, said.

The helicopter fell in an area where apartment buildings are located, the governor added.

Yerlikaya said no other military personnel or civilian had been injured after the helicopter plowed to the ground in the Cekmekoy district.

According to Yerlikaya, the Istanbul public prosecutor had launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.
