“I’ve always heard about Malta but never visited before filming this episode,” said Kathy McCabe, host of Dream of Europe. “To say that I was enchanted and enthralled is an understatement. This little country packs a big punch in beauty, culture, friendly locals, food and layers and layers of history. My entire crew was talking about returning for our own vacations.”
Michelle Buttigieg, Representative North America, Malta Tourism Authority, noted that “Malta was thrilled to be included in Kathy McCabe’s Dream of Europe Series and we hope that this episode will inspire the PBS viewers to explore the 8,000 years of history, beauty and diversity that is Malta next time in Europe.”
Dream of Europe follows McCabe’s journey as she embarks on the road less traveled to up-and-coming destinations in Europe, including Malta, Lake Annecy and Albania, as well as to discover tried and true destinations with a new spin.
In Greece and London, McCabe explores local and intimate experiences – including visiting an animal rescue on the island of Aegina and participating in Spitalfields Market’s vibrant Colour Walk. The theme song to the series was recorded at London’s famed Abbey Road Studios where The Beatles recorded. The making of the song is featured in the first episode.
